Fring: Free calls through your cell phones and an integrated messenger

September 5th, 2007

I cant tell you how delighted i was when i first got my hands on this little pieces of software Fring. Before i move ahead with this review let me inform you that this Software is absolutely FREE.

Using Fring you can integrate your GTalk / MSN / SIP and ICQ and make free internet calls (i.e. it supports voice chat). It supports a variety of platforms form Symbian to Windows Mobile.

-The software as it sounds is not so complicated one need to give some time to the software and am sure it will serve u well. The only missing addition is Yahoo IM.

As far the registration of the software is concerned, you have to fill in the necessary details after which u will get a link messaged on your cell phone through which u can download the software but for this u need GPRS enabled on your phone.

Not to worry if u don’t have GPRS because you also have an option of downloading the software through your PC. But to use this software u either need internet access i.e. WiFi or GPRS without which you cant use the software.

Another great tool Fring offers is the Skype. So if you use are registered with Skype you can probably make those international calls on the move using Skype.

We used HTC Touch to try the software. And the only occasional problem was that at times we weren’t able to hear the other person clearly during voice chat. However we are now trying a SE P990i and shall post our findings.

Works with almost all Windows based phones

For nokia users, all N series and E series phones.
