Designer Othmar Mühlebach definately had some office geeks in his mind when he developed this concept. The concept called ‘Printing Your Toast’ is a printer styled toaster. The bread enters the toaster from the top and falls on the toaster base after it has been toasted. For the workoholic gadget lovers, this concept is sure fun.

MotoDroid named gadget of the year, rise of iPhone killers?

December 9th, 2009

The iPhone is famous for sweeping the gadget awards and record books with its various milestones. However, the Jesus phone has been trumped by the Motorola Droid in the race towards the “Times gadget of the year”. The Google Navigation love along with a bigger 3.7″ screen seems to have sealed the deal for the Droid. On the other hand, the 3GS was appreciated for its augmented reality apps and landed 4th.

The Palm Pre and the Motorola Droid have proved to me that the iPhone is going to have a tough time maintaining its lead in 2010. With the aggressive push of Android and the charm of WebOS rising, the difference maker is just the App Store. Once that has a good competitor IMO iPhone could well be remembered as something that initiated a revolution and is one of the best… (more…)

Bluetooth rings, amazing concept!

September 8th, 2009

bluetooth rings

Just when I thought that I have seen the most coolest bluetooth accessory possible, here comes another gizmo. Imaging just holding your hand to your ear like a ‘talking on the phone’ gesture – and actually SPEAK? Well these bluetooth rings concept would allow you to exactly this.

You just put the speaker ring on your thumb and microphone on your little finger and all set to speak through your hand. This is one gadget concept that looks so possible to me, specially after seeing the Sony HBH IS800 recently.

Yes this is actually a USB Flash Drive with 4GB memory. The Rusted Steampunk pendrive is one of the coolest USB drives we have seen. With handmade design built over a Sandisk Cruzer (as it seems) this one is a great eye catcher.

Perhaps keeping such a USB thumbdrive will help me avoid people borrowing my gadgets :D

Truth Wristband

April 13th, 2009

wristband

This is the only gizmo that i would never let my girlfriend(s) get her hands on. This wearable wrist-band lie detector measures the changes in your pulse and determines weather you are lying or not.

The device is not 100% accurate but still, for just $45 it would be fun to try it on your friends and family. Ask an evocative question to the wearer of the device and it changes colour to red or blue telling you if the wearer is lying or telling the truth.

If you had this device with you, whom would you try it on? Tell us in the comments.

Weird (Stupid?) – Stopwatch for Postcards

March 16th, 2009

stopper_postcard

DAG-designlab created this postcard with a digital timer with a LCD display. The concept can be used to find the time taken by the postal service between sending and receiving of the postcard.

Anyone eager to try it out? Maybe the courier service can use it to check their efficiency.

Btw: Does anyone remember that pen NASA developed to be used in Space (spending a few million $$); and Russins simply used a pencil for the purpose! I can really relate to that here. Why not simply write the time on the envelop before posting it!! And let the receiver check the time he/she received it at.

The Alarm that makes you wakeup for real!

November 25th, 2008

This is what I call practical thinking! This Door mat alarm clock will make sure that you get up on time. Apparently you need to step on the mat with both legs to shut down the annoying alarm. So this ensures that you will atleast get out of the bed for once. A much needed gadget for me atleast. Hope it sees the material world soon :)

Gizmo Watch: Micro Spy Remote

May 23rd, 2008

Micro Spy Remote
I recently came across this cool Micro Spy Remote on ThinkGeek and couldn’t resist ordering it. Although getting it all the way to India was expensive but once I received it, It was worth the price paid. For years I have seen these universal remotes sell online but never ever such a quality. This thing is as small as a match box, slim and doubles up as an attractive Keychain as well.

This tiny device powered by a CR2032 battery, works with any television around. So my Sony Bravia, my neighbors Samsung LCD, my 8yr old AIWA or the LG at the nearby coffee shop, Whtever -you name it, and it works with it. I really needed to have it in hand to beleive this.

1. Its super small, 2. It has decent range, 3. It has wide compatibility and the best part is that you need not refer to a manual or code list to configure it. It automatically detects and configures itself to work with any TV around you. So in case you find the television at the nearby CCD shutting down every now and then, you know whom to lookout for ;)
