Google introduces Similar Image search

April 22nd, 2009

Google has launched another new feature to its image search. This new feature is names Google Similar Images. It is on its beta testing from google. We can guess from the name that this service would be used to find images that are similar to the image we are searching for.

The google similar image looks same as the google image search. The only difference is that the Similar Image link has been added to each image result in the google image search. Clicking on the similar image link gives the results that match the image.

When we tried to search for ‘mobile’ in google images, it showed many mobiles. One of the search result had the iPhone image. Clicking on the similar image link below the iPhone image displayed all the iPhone images that were of similar colour and pattern. Hit the jump to view the result image.
