Sony Ericsson announced what they claim would change the way you listen to music forever. Any guesses what this new gadget be? A new out-of-the-box music player, an iPod touch lookalike competitor, a gaming console with music, a new walkman phone would all be good guesses but wrong too. Sony is boosting about a new pair of buds! While the HBH-IS800 bluetooth headset left us stunned, this one isn’t all that revolutionary as promised.

The Orb is a Ring-cum-bluetooth headset

July 31st, 2009

ring-bluetooth

This one definitely goes into the league of the most amazing Bluetooth headsets available till now. Dubbed Orb, the Bluetooth headset turns into a ring when you are not using it. Which means you ain’t gonna loose it very easy. The headset would be available in two editions – classic and deluxe. The deluxe edition would come with a flexible OLED display that shows the caller info, voice-to-text info and calender details.

When you want to answer a call, just tuck the heasdset around your ear and keep talking. Bone conduction sound transfer gives you the benefit of not inserting the headset into your ears and hence no prob in sharing with friends.

Developed by Hybra Advanced Technologies and AbsolutelyNew, the headset would be available in early 2k10. The classic edition would cost $129 while the Deluxe edition would be available for $175. You would also have the option of embedding your favorite gem into the ring, which of course would cost extra.
