Though not as appealing as the other Nokia handsets, such as the X6 and X3 models, announced yesterday morning at the Nokia World Conference, a new entry-level S40 cellphone model was introduced by Nokia. Dubbed Mural, the handset resembles the Motorola flip-phones or the Motorola W series. The Mural will be offered to AT&T subscribers.
Here is a quick look at the specs:
- 3G with HSDPA compatibility
- 2.2″ QVGA display
- 2 MP camera
- MicroSD support
- Integrated e-mail and IM
- Bluetooth
The handset also supports AT&T Navigation, AT&T Mobile Music and AT&T Video Share. ‘Mural’ comes with interchangeable covers – in blue, red, green, orange, purple, and pink – and customizable lighting effects. The color effects, visible when one receives a message or call, seems to ensure that this one isn’t going to be a guy’s phone. For girls, matching the color with their accessories might be a cool option.
The Nokia Mural will be available for US$49.99 with a two-year contract from AT&T.

Nokia’s Booklet 3G did manage to excite us quite a bit until they revealed the pricing
. Today at the Nokia World 09, journalists from across the globe tested out the Nokia netbook. However, the bigger bomb that Nokia dropped was the pricing – approximately US$810, which translates to some Rs 40,000 in India. With the best of netbooks retailing for around Rs 20,000, I am sure that the Booklet 3G isn’t targeted at Nokia’s stronghold economies in Asia. Instead, it appeared that the product could possibly be set up to help the company to penetrate the US and UK markets.
It has been clarified that the Booklet 3G will be subsidized by carriers across the globe. But the fact that both carrier subsidy and 3G network will not be a reality in India anytime soon, us gizmo fans unfortunately will have to give this beautiful (and now expensive) gadget a miss, much against the original plan.
Apart from the pricing, the Nokia Booklet 3G does have an interesting set of (more…)

Nokia has just gone official with the X series handsets X6 and X3 at Nokia World 2009 along with the much rumored N97 mini. Pricing, Specifications and more details on the Booklet 3G are also out (more on that later).

The Nokia X6
Nokia X6-00 is a geeky and slim smartphone loaded with some decent specs. This one would please the iPhone lovers that want to use a Nokia (sorry, but the comparison with the ‘i’ comes in whenever we discuss a full touchscreen). X6 targets music lovers with 35 hours of non stop music and 32GB memory. Hopefully the widescreen display will allow better usability of touch features than what we have seen with (more…)
