We did hear some news about the new naming scheme from Nokia which mentioned the X series that focuses on entertainment and music for young audience. The leaked X10 belongs to the same X series. The handset has been released by a video on YouTube that shows a few documentation of the Symbian^3 powered Nokia X10.

If the ‘internal’ sources of BeGeek are to be believed, the phone in the picture above is Nokia’s N98. The rumored specifications include a 4″ touchscreen, 32GB of internal storage and a slide-out QWERTY. The picture also suggests an OS looking similar to Symbian S60. As the design and model number would suggest to you, this is a N97 successor and we just hope that Nokia has had its learning’s from the N97. The phone also has a leaked price tag – €450 ($619). The phone is expected to be released during the holiday season of 2010 and rumored to be announced during the Mobile World Congress. But seeing Nokia’s low interest in the MWC 2010, we hardly see this happening.

When it comes to design, Motorola is coming out with something entirely new and impressive these days. After a backwords flipping QWERTY with the Motorola Backflip, here comes multiple orientation keyboard phone — Motosplit. The rumored Motosplit is expected to have a unique form-factor, according to the leaked design image shown above. The phone is rumored to be featuring a multi-sliding keyboard. The keyboard can be a numeric keypad as well as a full QWERTY because it uses touch sensitive monochrome displays for keys.
The cut-outs for the ‘touch-keys’ match the counter of a standard finger to make typing easier. The key label would change according to the slide layout in use. The keyboard can be slide downwards for use as a standard numerical keypad and can also slide sideways to be used as QWERTY in landscape mode.
Other rumored specifications include a screen-size same as that of the Motorola Droid (3.7“, 480 x 854) and a snapdragon 1GHz processor. The phone is expected to be official in Q3 2010.

A close look at the Nokia’s product lineup would surely suggest a broken link between the low-end phones and the high-end N-series/E-series. If the speculations of a handset called C5 are to be true, then Nokia might just be filling this broken link with a new C-series. C5 is the first leaked handset of the new rumored C-series. C5 would be a mid-range Nokia smartphone which should fit perfect into the price sensitive pockets. The phone seems to be running Symbian S60 v3 & the shortcuts / widgets on the homescreen reminds us of the 5233 UI we saw earlier this week.
The rumored specs are -
- Symbian S60v3 OS
- 3.2MP camera
- HSDPA / HSUPA
- 2.2? QVGA screen
- 50MB internal memory
- MicroSD Slot
- GPS / A-GPS
- 3.5MM audio jack
- FM Radio
The C5 is expected to be announced later this month @ MWC 2010 at Barcelona. The pricing of the device is unknown.

The old rumor of an Google phone got a dose of reality with claims that the HTC made device pictured above is actually the Google Phone! Apparently, a San-Francisco based blogger, Cory O’Brian, got his hands on the Google phone, called the ‘Nexus One’ (name confirmed by WSJ) . When Google ain’t talking about it officially, employees testing the device tweet and show-off the Google phone with pride. A few days back Google also confirmed that they testing a “mobile lab” device. The device is also been given to many employees for testing. Obviously there is no ‘official’ confirmation if this phone is THE Google phone or the rumored HTC Passion.

A Nokia tablet like device headed for T-Mobile has been spotted at a filing with FCC. The device coded RX-51 might well be the Nokia Netbook that is was rumored some time back. The device in question is 3G enabled and has a large body. Either its another giant N97 type smartphone or the netbook / tablet!
It was also revealed a while back that Nokia has registered a C-series and X-series trademark. This might well be one of these devices since all Nokia phones appear at FCC in RM-XX format, while this one is RX-51.

The G1 / Android created much hype before going public a few months back. But it was anything buy an iPhone killer. A good phone with good features and nice web integration. Powered by Google and a very capable hardware manufactuere HTC the G1 certainly could have done better. And here comes an explanation to why a mojor feature such as multitouch on G1 was left out by Google.
Apple holds patent relating to multitouch, though disputed on how that exactly that applies and how any of its competitors have infringed upon Apple’s patent(s); an insider reveals that Google complied to Apple’s advice and disabled the multitouch support on Android despite both the hardware and software platform being capable of supporting multitouch. Also revealed is that a standard 3.5mm headphone jack was also left out of the G1 just to please Apple.
While Google and Apple are known to be friends with a common rival (yes the BIG M); Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt is also on Apple’s Board. Thus the report suggests that Google avoided souring its ties with Apple by challenging its patents as openly as Palm did with the PRE.
While this remains to be a rumor, knowing that Google is known to respond to any such public news we can expect to hear from them on this soon!
An Android hack demonstrating its multitouch capabilities downstairs on video.

Apple rumors are back, and this time its the famous MacBook AIR that is seeing an upgrade with a 15″ version. The chinese blog Apple.pro claims that the second half of 2009 would see this 15″ MBA.
The 15″ AIR is expected to use Intel’s low voltage Core 2 Processors. The recently released unibody 15″ from Apple is already (one of ) the thinnest and lightweight 15″ notebook in the market. This makes us feel that a MacBook Air might not be Apple’s priority. But again by 2nd half 2009 the unibody would be a year old.

Yahoo has got a new CEO (Carol Bartz) and Steve Ballmer seems to be still interested in acquiring Yahoo or part of it. According to a NewYork Times report Steve met up with Yahoo Chairman Roy Bostock recently. While the agenda is not clear, it takes no genius to tell what they could be discussing.
While I didn’t hear anything particular about that while attending the Blog Camp Mumbai @ Microsoft Office; it is being speculated that Microsoft might be pitching to acquire the Yahoo Search Engine business.

If American Technology Research analyst Brian Marshall is to be believed the iPhone Nano is on its way, but it won’t be released in the US at first. Apparently the same would be targeted at the Asian and other markets where the low cost iPhone will fiercely compete with Nokia and others.
The latest round of rumors had claimed that the production for the iPhone Nano would start in march and it would launch sometime in June / July. While that looks like the right time for new iPhones, this little twist in the tale is totally unexpected but POSSIBLE.

The low cost Palm Centro that helped Palm to earn some $$ last year seems to be ready for an upgrade. And what better than the new Palm webOS to run on it. Palm PRE happens to be the first device offering the webOS, and the platform is certainly promsing with its card deck multitasking approach and synergy. As announced at CES, many more Palm devices on the platform are already in works.
So a low cost Centro 2 powered by webOS (and as per rumors this would be without the QWERTY, that means a larger touch screen) can really boost things for Palm. This would certainly compliment the Palm PRE. We are excited

Rumors mills are churning out a fresh twist to the
Motorola sale story. Apparently Motorola is working on a new UIQ powered handset powered with a 8MP camera. Other features include GPS and a built in built-in NVIDIA chip for 3D graphics and Video. According to the reports they might launch the same sometime in 4Q 2008. The device is codenamed ‘Alexander’ and might offer a TouchScreen aswell. In case this one doesn’t manage to revive the troubled Motorola handset unit, they might well sell off the company! Although it doesn’t sound very logical to bet the whole company on a single release, all we can say it Best of Luck (Get well soon).
