Tata DoCoMo entices customers with Diet-SMS service
September 10th, 2009 by Kunal

After gaining popularity with its ‘one paisa per second billing’, the Tata DoCoMo GSM service provider has launched the One Paisa per SMS character service in India. Dubbed “Diet-SMS”, the service will charge users only by the number of characters typed in the SMS, and the rate of one paisa per SMS character.
Looks like one can now respond with shorter text messages (like the ‘OK’ in response to something else) without having to worry about being charged for a regular 160-character SMS. If you are wondering, space is not considered as a character. Time to shoot off those lolz’s and lmao’s without a care in the world – or at least with less expensive monthly cellphone bill.
