World’s Fastest Texter competition, $1 million prize by LG

LG announced the beginning of the second Mobile Worldcup competition. Named Mobile Worldcup 2009, the competition is for the fastest and the most accurate mobile textors. The competition has a total prize pool of whooping 1 million US dollars.
The competition starts on August 15 at Jakarta, Indonesia. Around 200 textors would battle out for a finalist position and a prize of $9,900. The events would then be conducted at 13 other countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, South Africa, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Russia, China and South Korea.
The finalist from all these countries would battle with the textors from US and Canada (already been named) for the ultimate title of ‘World’s Fastest Textor’ and a prize money of $100,000.
Similar competition held last year attracted 700,000 contestants. LG expects the number to go as high as 6million contestants this year.
