Micromax recently announced via its official Facebook page about a successor to the Canvas Doodle, i.e. The Canvas Doodle 2. Images of a handset christened the Micromax A240 leaked on the internet couple of days ago. Now, it looks as if they are the names of the same smartphone.
No details have officially been disclosed about the Canvas Doodle 2. However, rumoured specs say, that it’ll carry a 5.7 inch 720p HD display. Under the hood, it will be supported by 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. It can be expected to have a Dual-SIM slot along with an additional storage expansion. Along with that it is also said to be accompanied by a 12 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. Anything less than a 4.2.2 version of JB with an assured 4.3 update in the near future could do the trick and could prevent this from being a big turn off!
One question to ponder is, will Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 attract phablet buyers or just be another particle of sand in the expanding phablet ecosystem?
The Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 seems to be a direct rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 5.8, though it may seem plausible. We expect Micromax to make an official announcement before the first week of September.
