Aircel Intros Unified Data Charges Across India

Aircel has announced a bunch of new data plans along with unified data charges across all its circles in India. The company claims that this is being done in order to boost mobile data usage in the country and also to take a lead in the data market. Apart from introducing this unified internet tariff,  the company now also offers a 7 days unlimited internet pack at Rs. 27 and 1 GB of internet access (2G/3G) for Rs. 128/month – matching Reliance’s slashed 3G rates. If you are still wondering what this unified data tariff means, simply put, Aircel would not have separate plans for 2G and 3G access.

According to a press relase issued by Aircel, these are the details of the plans

PI 27

This is priced at Rs. 27 and offers unlimited 2G/3G data to the customers with a validity of 7 days. The product offers great value to the customer as the unlimited data offered can be used over a week at a very low price. This data tariff is ideally suited for customers who use mobile internet for social networking, browsing, getting news updates, checking mails, etc.

PI 128

This is priced at Rs. 128 and offers its 2G and 3G customers 1 GB data with a validity of 30 days. This data tariff is aimed at customers who use their data for downloading music, playing HD games, mobile applications, live streaming of videos and other high data usage content.

Here are the price points for the new plans in various circles across India

aircel

Like I mentioned earlier, these data packs will offer users 3G speeds if a network is available and will drop down to 2G speeds when not under 3G coverage. Of course, in circles where Aircel does not have the 3G icense, users would only get 2G speeds.
