BlackBerry Launches the Bold 9790, Curve 9380 and Curve 9350 in India

RIM has expanded its lineup of BlackBerry OS 7 powered handsets in India with the launch of three new handsets in the country. The handsets to be officially launched today include the BlackBerry Bold 9790, Curve 9380 and the Curve 9350.

Let’s take a quick look at each of these new launches. We start with the Bold 9790.

This phone features a standard 2.44 inch, 480*360 pixel display. While many people have a hard time distinguishing between various BlackBerry models, those with a keen eye will notice that the design of the Bold 9790 looks like a cross between the Bold 9700 and the Torch 9850. Oh and another thing to be noted is the fact that the 9790 gets a touchscreen display.

Under the hood, this smartphone sports a powerful 1 GHz processor. Internal memory is pegged at 8GB which can be expanded further using micro SD cards. On the imaging front, there is a 5 MP auto-focus camera which should be enough for casual photography. The Bold 9790 also gets an inbuilt NFC chip. When launched on December 1, 2011, the phone is expected to be priced at Rs 27,490.

As for the Curve 9380, the device is the first phone in the Curve range to get a touch screen display. Like its more expensive cousin, the Bold 9790, this one too gets support for NFC. This one has a larger 3.2 inch display with the resolution of 480×360 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by an 800 Mhz processor and also gets 1GB of internal memory which again is expandable using micro SD cards. Another notable feature on the 9380 is the integration of the BlackBerry’s Social Feeds application which is a one stop social network application from here you can access and control almost all your social network accounts. The 9380also gets a 5 megapixel camera. The phone is expected to be priced at Rs. 20,990.

Next up is the Curve 9350. This is a CDMA handset and features a 2.22 inch 480*360 pixel display. The phone gets 512 MB of storage capacity along with 512 MB of ROM. The internal memory can be expanded using microSD cards as well. Like the other two newly launched devices, this one too gets a 5-megapixel camera with flash and video recording abilities at the back.

The 9350 too would be priced at Rs.20,990 and will be available on the CDMA networks of MTS, RCOM and Tata DoCoMo starting December 1.
