Galaxy Note 2 will debut in Berlin on August 29

The ongoing battle between Samsung and Apple is not only happening at court trials. The two tech giants are fighting it out in the market, an attempt to garner maximum attention. Rumors regarding the launch date of the next iPhone have been doing rounds in the tech circuit and gaining prominence too.  Samsung too isn’t far behind, as it has confirmed that it will unveil the next Galaxy Note series of smartphone on August 29,  two weeks before the rumored launch of Apple’s new iPhone.

A spokesman from Samsung said, “We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29,” a Samsung spokesman said on Friday, reported Reuters.

The new Galaxy Note is speculated to feature a larger, unbreakable display along with faster processor and an improved camera. The first Galaxy Note was announced by Samsung during IFA 2011 in Berlin and was hailed as a groundbreaking device claiming to be a smartphone cum tablet. So, it’s not surprising that Samsung chose a date, just two days before the opening of IFA, Europe’s biggest consumer electronics trade fair. It should be noted that, the South Korean tech conglomerate will be putting its full product lineup for display at the IFA 2012.

What is still unclear is that if Samsung has planned the debut of the next Galaxy Note on August 29, why did it send out ‘Save The Date’ emails for August 15, 2012. The email stated, ”Please join Samsung Electronics America for a major announcement and unveiling of the newest Galaxy device.“ Any thoughts on which Galaxy device it might be?
