Blackberry seems to be having a hard time keeping track of its prototype devices. It was not long ago that we had first heard of the BlackBerry Dakota. Now, we have even more photos of this new BlackBerry Bold Touch model. The Dakota features an all metal body and boasts of a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 640×480 pixels. That mind you, is a decent resolution for a 2.8 –inch display.
The phone is likely to feature a magnetometer, accelerometer proximity Sensor, support for Near Field Communication (NFC). The imaging bit would be handled by a 5MP rear-facing camera. It is also expected to feature 512MB of RAM. The phone also gets 6.5 GB of internal storage. There is still no clarity on the type of processor that would be used to power this device. The rear of the device is interesting as well with talks of a carbon fiber cover being talked of now.
Going by what we have seen so far, the Dakota could turn out to be a desirable device for all you BlackBerry freaks out there. But would this be enough to turn around the performance of RIM in the smartphones sector where it is having a hard time keeping up with the growth rate of Android.
