We have been waiting for Dell to make its move in the cellphone market in India, (no, we do not count the Streak as a phone, more as a tablet) and it seems that our wait is over. As per an invite residing in our mailboxes, Dell will be holding a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday to announce the “launch of its new India-specific mobile phones.“Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director and General Manager, Consumer, Dell India, will be doing most of the talking, and we must confess to being fascinated by the term “India-specific” in the invite as it seems to hint at devices that might be exclusively designed for the subcontinent.
Needless to say, we are fascinated. Equally, needless to say, we will be keeping you informed! Watch this space.
They will be announcing the ZTE Racer as Dell XCD28….If by India specific, they mean cheap entry level Chinese made Android handsets, I don’t see them upsetting the apple cart in the time to come.
