Complete iLife iOS Suite

Apple has introduced iPhoto for iOS while releasing major updates to iMovie and GarageBand. The introduction of with iPhoto multi-touch gestures completes the iLife suite which is especially designed for iOS.  iWork suite that includes Pages, Keynotes and Numbers on the other hand received minor updates.

iPhoto

iPhoto for iOS

iPhoto uses simple fingertips gestures to sort, enhance and retouch images that can be shared via iCloud in the form of photo journals. Phil Schiller introduced the product saying, “With the introduction of iPhoto, we’ve brought the entire suite of iLife apps to iOS and users are going to love it.”  iPhoto introduces the much needed  editing features for the iOS platform. The app promises control over many key aspects of a photograph, namely color, exposure and contrast. In addition to the same, it brings Apple-designed effects and adjustments with the use of brushes. The app allows streaming of photos and slideshows with Apple TV with AirPlay. iCloud gives the option of publishing photo journals to the web whilst retaining sharing via Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.

GargeBand

GarageBand for iOS

GarageBand is a great on the go app for musicians and even for the novice dabbler the only thing that lacked was interactivity.  A new feature Jam Session might have solved it now allowing 3 additional users to wirelessly connect for a group jam and recording. What’s more, Jam Session is capable of synchronizing tempo, key and chord of all devices to make it available on each device for further editing. The two features introduced are Smart Strings and Note Editor. Smart Strings allows you to play an entire orchestra with one finger, ah-huh. While new Note Editor allows you to fine tune a Touch Instrument recording instead of replaying it from scratch. The app allows you to share the songs directly on to Facebook, YouTube and SoundCloud and iCloud keeps all songs up to date across all your iOS devices.

The New iPad is capable of HD and now so is iMovie. The update Theater view allows an user to preview and choose from nine templates. The trailers feature customizable graphics with soundtracks by Hans Zimmer and performed by the likes of London Symphony Orchestra. The app allows sharing of trailers to popular social networking websites like YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook. High-definition videos up to 1080p can be streamed to Apple TV using AirPlay. iWork received minor updates with the availability of 3D charts for Numbers that will help you create and view impressive 3D bar, line, area and pie charts. Keynote now has added builds and transitions that include Iris, Shimmer, Wipe, Flame, Swing and Fade Through Color. Pages is capable of landscape orientation on iPhone and iPod.

iPhoto, iMovie 1.3 and GarageBand 1.2 are available at the App Store for $ 4.99 each. The iWork suite that includes Keynote 1.6, Pages 1.6 and Numbers 1.6 are available today for $ 9.99 each. Existing customers of the apps can download the updates for free.
