Micromax launches Canvas Nitro A310, an Octa-core smartphone priced at Rs. 12,990

Today, Micromax has launched a new smartphone in the Canvas line-up, named ‘Canvas Nitro A310’. It’s priced at Rs. 12,990, directly competing with the newly launched Moto G (2nd Gen).

The phone comes with a 5-inch 720p IPS display with 294 ppi. The display doesn’t come with Gorilla Glass, instead Micromax is using a anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating. It’ll be powered by a 1.7Ghz Octa-core MediaTek MTK6592 processor married with Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Like the Galaxy Note 2, the back design of the phone has a fake leather stitch panel.

It’s running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Micromax content stores, apps as well as some software customization’s like lock screen notifications. Also, there’s ‘Quick look’ which is exactly like HTC’s Blink Feed or My Magazine of Samsung. Another add-on includes various gestures like flick of two fingers towards left can play music while an upward flick on the screen can open app drawer.

Following the on-going trend of selfie phones, Micromax has added a 5-megapixel fixed front camera paired with a 13 megapixel auto focus camera on the rear with LED Flash. On the software front for the camera, the company has added some features like stabilized shot which clicks a picture only after detecting that your hand is steady enough. There’s of course selfie mode and a weird front / back shot mode which allows clicking two shots at same time, one with rear camera and one with front and put them on the same frame. We’ve seen this before in Samsung Galaxy S5.

Internal storage on the device tops at 8GB out of which only 5.65GB is user available. Of course, Micromax has provided support for expanding storage up to 32GB via a microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the Dual-SIM smartphone supports 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.

It will be selling in Mesmerizing Blue and Pristine White colors, equipped with a 2500mAh battery. If you’re interested, then the Canvas Nitro A310 will be available to buy today from Snapdeal at 2PM.
