Battlegrounds Mobile India finally launched: how to download, game features, rewards

Battlegrounds Mobile India has finally launched today. This is great news for the mobile gaming community who have been waiting for the PUBG alternative. BGMI is developed for Indian gamers after the popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile was banned by the government last year. It is quite similar to PUBG Mobile in terms of gameplay, events, weapons, and more.

BGMI: how to download and system requirements

As of now, Battlegrounds Mobile India is available only on Android devices. It is expected to arrive on iOS devices sometime in the future. The game is compatible with Android devices running version 5.1 or above and also having at least 2GB RAM memory. Follow the steps below to download the game on your smartphone

  • Visit Google Play Store and search for ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ or simply head to this link
  • Click on Install to download the game

The game weighs 750MB in size and there’s additional downloadable content of another 750MB that users need to download to start playing the game. Players who have the early access version of BGMI just need to update the app from Play Store. 

BGMI: features

In terms of gameplay, Battlegrounds Mobile India is quite similar to PUBG Mobile. However, it also comes with a few tweaks like green colour blood instead of red. The battle royale game includes four maps i.e. Erangel, Livik, Miramar, Sanhok and Krakin. There are also four game modes including Classic, Arcade, EvoGround and Arena. Under the Arena mode, players can choose from 5v5 team deathmatch, arena training, gun game, domination and assault. 

Battlegrounds Mobile India will remind players to take break after every game or 45 minutes to clear their mind. The game will also come with strict parental controls and will ask if the user is above 18 years of age. Minors will not be allowed to play for more than 3 hours and spend above Rs 7,000 for in-game purchases.

As per Krafton, the personal information of players would be stored in servers based in India and Singapore. PUBG players can also transfer their data like achievements, in-game currency, inventory and more to BGMI until 31st December 2021. 

BGMI: rewards

As more players join the Battlegrounds Mobile India launch events in the game, they will be rewarded with a free permanent purple outfit as well as other rewards like outfits, weapon skins. If you pre-registered before the game launched, you are eligible to receive rewards including reckon masks, reckon outfit, celebration expert title and 300AG. 

Apart from this, Krafton had announced rewards upon the game hitting a specific number of downloads. The deadline for claiming these rewards is August 19th 2021. The list of exclusive gifts include:

  • Supply Crate Coupon *1 on signing up 
  • Supply Crate Coupon *2 on reaching 1mn downloads
  • Classic Crate Coupon *1 on reaching 5mn downloads
  • Constable Set on reaching 10mn downloads
