Claimed to be the slimmest full HD display toting smartphone in the world, this one measures just 6.5mm across and obviously gets a 1920x1080p display with a 344ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by the powerful, quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU which runs at a cool 2.2 Ghz. It also gets 2 GB of RAM . The Xperia Z Ultra goes one step ahead of its sibling – the Xperia Z being offering a phone that is completely waterproof. The Xperia Z as you might be aware was just water resistant. This phone, you can take safely with you inside a swimming pool and operate it safely without worrying about its innards getting fried.

The phone gets 16 GB of on board memory and also lets you add more memory using micro SD cards. Powering all the hardware is a large 3,050 mAh battery. Connectivity options are aplenty with support for 2G, 3G and 4G networks plus added support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB 2.0.

The camera is an 8 megapixel unit at the rear and a 2 megapixel front camera. As expected, this phone can also capture videos in full HD. The Xperia Z Ultra has been priced at Rs 46,990 and will hit the stores on August 2. The phone though is already available for a lot cheaper with some retailers selling it for Rs. 44,990. The phone sold in India comes preinstalled with apps from Sony TV and a subscription to Bigflix for a month.
