webOS app developer Killin’ It has recorded some views from a webOS 2.0 device giving us a hint of what hardware HP is cooking up with Palm’s technology. Given that iPhone 4 is the benchmark for any smartphone maker today, it seems HP is aiming for none less then the Apple gizmo. A 960×640 resolution version of webOS app Cloud Hopper has been spotted. The device running it is referred as ‘Roadrunner HD’ and this is likely to be a smartphone, but might well be a the webOS tablet that HP plans for 2011. WindsorNot
After HP’s misadventure with the “palm”, the Tech giant has come up with a webOS powered smartphone that has been codenamed WindsorNot. The all- touch Smartphone is powered by webOS 3.x, the same version that was used in the ill fated HP TouchPad.
The Smartphone was developed under Jon Rubenstien and was slated to be released after the pre 3 in 2011, however due to instability in the OS that timeline was missed. Following the delays AT&T which was supposed to be the official carrier for the Smartphones lost interest causing the Smartphone project to lose momentum.
The application of WebOS has now transitioned from Smartphones to TV’s. This has given the much-appreciated operating system a new lease on life, with LG successfully integrating the former Smartphone OS seamlessly into their range Of Smart TV’s.
