BlackBerry’s recently announced Z10 was not received with rave reviews. There is however no denying the fact that it indeed is quite capable a device as a smartphone. Some partners of BlackBerry seem to surely believe so. That’s right, we have reports coming in about an “established” partner of the erstwhile RIM (Research In Motion) turned BlackBerry ordering as many as 1 million BlackBerry 10 devices. RIM has claimed that this is the “largest ever single purchase order” in the company’s history.
Note that the order is for BlackBerry 10 devices in general and as of now we are of the belief that the orders might also include the second and unreleased BlackBerry 10 handset – the Q10.
It was on January 30 2013 that BlackBerry announced the first of the BlackBerry OS 10 devices the Z10 and Q10. The company with the help of these new devices hopes to regain the huge chunk of market share it lost to the likes of Android and iOS. RIM, as you might be already aware, was on a continuous market share losing spree since 2009.
Apart from this single order for over a million devices, BlackBerry had also informed us all about the fact that the German government too is adopting the BlackBerry Z10 for usage by Government employees.
While I am unsure if these orders would help BlackBerry gain lost market share, I am sure all this is music to your ears if you happen to be a BlackBerry fanboy.
