Well well well.. look what we have here! Just when you thought the megapixel war amongst phonemakers had come to a silent, abrupt end with most phone makers hitting the 12 megapixel block, we have HTC touting its upcoming 16 megapixel camera phone in a teaser video. The video showcases an upcoming device that the device is slated to be a Windows Phone powered smartphone and along with the camera, it will also get dual LED flash.
From what is being shown in the video, the looks of this unnamed device is similar to the recently launched HTC Desire S – of course, with the addition of the mandatory WP7 buttons trio. Here’s the video BTW:
As of now, the highest HTC has gone in terms of megapixel count is up to 8 megapixels. If this one arrives, it would probably be the biggest leap that HTC takes when it comes to megapixel count in their smartphones. That said, there are phones from not so famous manufacturers like Altek and Spice both of which have 14 megapixel cameraphones already on sale.
