3D TVs and LCDs are buzzing around the world and it seems that the 3D revolution is all set to reach an all new level this year with Sony announcing digital cameras that can capture 3D images. The Cybershot TX9 & WX5 from Sony are powered by the 3D Sweep Panorama feature that delivers 3D images viewable in supported computer / TV screens. The 3D panoramic mode functions such that information from as many as 100 images are gathered and combined to create a stereoscopic pair of frames. Not just that, using another bit of black magic (Sweep Multi Angle) these cameras can simulate 3D on the camera’s own 2D display!

So if you have been one of those who has a 3D screen but do not know where to create 3D content for it, here is a good start with the worlds smallest 3D cameras. The pricing isn’t too steep either, the Tx9 would cost $400 and WX5 for $300 (both going on sale in September) whereas the T99 is $250.
