The update saga of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 range of phones continues unabated. There had been a lot of surprise when Sony Ericsson had launched the X10 phones (the X10, the X10 mini and the X10 mini pro) running Android 1.6 at a time when most devices were thinking in terms of 2.1.The company had assured users that they would be getting updates to 2.1 in the third quarter, and now, has announced that the 2.1 update will come only the end of October, and of course, that too will depend upon different network providers and regional requirements. Judging from the comments by users on the blog, not too many are happy with the delay, especially as a number of other Android devices would have moved to version 2.2 (also known as Froyo) by that time, leaving X10 users once again with the “great hardware and old software” feeling. All of which is not really good news for Sony E. Get a move on, folks!
