After the news of HTC launching the Desire Z in India came in, we now have repots of yet another Android handset making its way to India. The handset in question is HTC Incredible S which was announced at the Mobile World Congress back in February. The phone is already available for pre-order on Flipkart, the online retailer. If that wasn’t all, it also gets a dedicated page on the HTC India website. This phenomenon was noted only on occasions when a HTC phone was about to be launched or are on sale.
The Incredible S, as you might have guessed is a successor to the “original” Incredible that was launched last year as a Verizon exclusive CDMA phone. The successor however is GSM and will be available on other networks as well as SIM free in countries like India.
The Incredible S boasts of a 4 inch SLCD display an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash. The phone is powered by a 1GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 205 GPU. It gets 768MB of RAM and over a GB of ROM memory as well. The phone runs Android 2.2 and is expected to get an update to version 2.3 in the not too distant future.
The phone is priced at Rs.26,999 on Flipkart.
