Last month we had reported about a leaked HTC device named Pico. Well, the device now has been officially released, christened as HTC Explorer today which makes its mark as the most affordable android handset in the HTC pack.
The spec sheet on the Explorer is quite modest which we certainly do not mind considering the fact that its a budget phone. The specifications include:
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- Sense UI
- 3.2 HVGA screen
- 3MP Camera
- 512 internal Memory
- 600 MHz processor
The Explorer is available in three different colors which includes Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy. Aimed at the youth it has changeable back covers in multiple colours in metallic shades of blue, orange, white, and purple.
The HTC Explorer will be made available from the fourth quarter of this year in the continents of Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa as well. Though, there has been no official announcement on the price of the device, it is being speculated to be a sub $300 smartphone.
3 UK has already announced itself as the official carrier of the HTC Explorer, but didn’t give an exact date on their launch of the device. You can take a look at one of their official promo video of the device:
