Google rolled out the Android 2.3.4 update for the Nexus S and the Nexus One just a few days back. Many Nexus S users have updated their device to 2.3.4, and lost root access, well if you are one of them and looking to root your device after the 2.3.4 update by Google then you have come to the right place, this post is for you.
Requirements:
- Clockworkmod recovery should be installed
- Download super user from here (http://www.mediafire.com/?0a4abln7x3gjgrv)
Procedure:
- Flash clockworkmod recovery
- Download the superuser .zip from above, copy it to the internal memory of your Nexus S
- Switch off device
- Reboot into recovery by holding volume down button and power button together
- Select recovery by pressing power button in the newly opened screen
- In recovery select mounts and storage
- Mount/system
- Mount/data
- Now go back and select “choose zip from SD card” in the main menu of the recovery
- Choose .zip file you just downloaded
- Accept the prompt which comes up
- Reboot device
Your Nexus S will be rooted.
