While Apple is yet to get over with its differences with Adobe, Android seems to be the one who is making hay when the sun shines- well, literally!
As promised back at the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona, Adobe has finally bought its Air platform to smart phones running Android. This opens up a new Vista of Adobe Air based apps that can now be run on Android smart phones.
Adobe Air as you might be aware is used to run Internet applications locally. The Adobe Air application itself does not contain a directory of apps that you can install.
Adobe says that Air will eventually come pre-installed on most Android devices. Adobe Air applications would soon be listed on the Android Market as well.
If you have an Android device in hand now, and try to run an Air App on your phone, it will take you to a download link for the application. That said, there are some basic requirements for a phone to be able to run Adobe Air applications. These include an update to Froyo (Android 2.2) and not to mention at least 256MB of RAM or ARMv7-A processor.
Make sure your device is compliant before you start your adventures!
