OnePlus is set to launch two affordable TVs in the Indian market on July 2nd. Alongside the announcement, the brand teased on its Twitter account that its upcoming offering will be priced starting at ‘Rs 1x,999’. This confirms a sub-Rs 20,000 starting price. The televisions are teased to pack some premium features. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said in a statement, “We believe the new range of OnePlus TVs will re-define the premium experience in their respective price segments by providing unparalleled quality, coupled with best-in-class displays and premium design.”
According to a report, OnePlus will launch one budget and one mid-range TV with the former retailing for around Rs 15,000. The brand hasn’t revealed any key specifications of its upcoming offering. The televisions are expected to retain a few features from its premium Q1 series. By launching affordable TVs, OnePlus aims to take on the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, Nokia and Motorola in the Indian market.
OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro specifications:
OnePlus forayed into the television market in September last year. Both the OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro are the brand’s premium offerings with the same specifications and design. However, the TVs are differentiated in terms of audio. The Q1 comes with four speakers while the Q1 Pro is equipped with 8 speakers with a sliding soundbar integrated into the chassis. The OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro feature a 55-inch QLED display with Dolby Vision. The TVs run on Android 9-based Android TV OS and come with Google Assistant, Play Store, Youtube and OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video. Other features include a Type-C rechargeable remote, Quick AppSwitch, WiFi sharing and TrackPad controls.
