The Airtel brand is undoubtedly one of the most recognized ones in India now. Well, that brand has underwent a major revamp with the company announcing a brand new logo and a lot of other changes to the decade old Airtel brand most of us have been so used to. The restructuring of the brand comes at a time when the company has crossed a subscriber base of 200 million users in India.
Along with the refreshed logo comes a refreshed theme song which like the earlier jingle , has been composed by AR Rahman. The earlier jingle if you recall held the record for the most downloaded mobile music with over 150 million downloads.
The unveiling of the new logo, as mentioned earlier comes on the occasion of another achievement for Airtel. It became the first Indian mobile operator to breach the 200 million subscribers mark. Already one of the world’s largest mobile telephony companies, the addition of 100 million users came in just 18 months after the company crossed the 100 million subscriber mark in May 2009.
As a part of the re-branding process, Airtel will spend a total of 300 crores!
That said, what do you folks think about the new logo! I just heard someone tweet that it looks more like a Vodafone logo now!
This author in particular is habitual to spelling mistakes…”restructiring”/” hew “/”anothr “/”sbscribers”/” te”/….earlier also one commentator has pointed out this…editor-in-chief saheb kuch kijiye inka…these typo seriously hurt the integrity of an article.
