The Bangalore-based Mango Man has launched Teewe 2, the second version of its content streaming dongle with a price tag of Rs. 2,399. The price will also include two months of free 20GB content for Airtel broadband users as well as access to premium ErosNow content.
It can work with any TV with an HDMI Port and needs a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connection to stream online content which now every WiFi router exists has in it. The dongle is plug and play and once the device is plugged into the HDMI port it only needs a basic setup.
Teewe 2 is another option for those who stream web videos on larger screens through mobile phones or laptops. It is lighter and smaller than any streaming dongle available in Indian market today.
The Teewe 2 has a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 Processor along with a quad-core GPU and 1GB of DDR 3 RAM compared to the Google Chromecast which has a single-core processor with 512MB RAM and costs Rs. 600 more than the new Teewe.
With Teewe 2, you can a stream a video from your mobile phone and simultaneously control it from your desktop or add a video from the desktop and simultaneously queue another from your Facebook feed via Teewe’s Chrome plugin. The device also has a desktop app that allows the user to mirror their displays onto the television.
Comparing to its competitors – Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Google Chromecast, Teewe doesn’t have multiple apps to manage, or an ecosystem to be locked into for full benefits, said Sai Srinivas, co-founder and CEO at Teewe.in.
The device is available on Teewe.com. You can pre-order one today and it will start shipping from 25th May 2015.
