A few months after its international debut, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c have went on to break sales records and have invaded a bunch of countries. As part of its continued international roll out, the brand new iPhone line up would be expanded into India. And if we are to believe fresh reports emanating, the new iOS toting twins would see the official light of the day in India starting November 1. Ebay India had already pre-booking the device as per our repor last week – so this announcement certainly doesn’t surprise me.
Both the new iPhones were launched at an event held on September 10 earlier this year. The iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c being the two variants of the device, offers customers quite a few options – quite unlike previous iPhone launches where they only launched a single device. While the iPhone 5s is is an upgrade to last years iPhone 5 with a faster 64 bit A7 processor as well as a brand new fingerprint reader, the iPhone 5c is Apple’s first attempt at manufacturing an Apple with a plastic body. While many expected the iPhone 5c to be far cheaper than the iPhone 5S, that was not the case.
In India, the iPhone 5s is likely to be priced at around the Rs. 50,000 mark, The iPhone 5c on the other hand should be cheaper at Rs.40,000. This is in line with the current prices of the iPhone 5 in India. Talking about the iPhone 5, Apple has decided to discontinue production of the same as they would be replaced by the iPhone 5c. Earlier, it was a norm for Apple to continue selling an older generation iPhone for cheaper even after announcing a newer version.
Would you be considering getting yourselves either of these devices now that their launch date is more or less confirmed?
