The next generation of Asus Zenfone is coming to India very soon. Asus has plans to launch the Zenfone 2 in the first week of April. Earlier, Asus had globally launched the Zenfone 2 at the Mobile World Congress event this year. The Asus Zenfone 2 will feature premium specifications and features at a sweet price range. We expect Asus Zenfone 2 to match the pricing of OnePlus One and Xiaomi Mi4 in India although no details are available yet. Globally, the Zenfone 2 is available in 4 models with price ranging from Rs. 10,000- Rs. 20,000.
According to Asus, the Zenfone 2 will be disruptive for Indian markets and will compete with the like of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 6. The company further took a dig at Xiaomi and OnePlus by stating that the phone will be launched without any flash sales or invitations as the Zenfone is for everyone.
The Asus Zenfone 2 is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom processor clocked at 2.3GHz which is complemented by a staggering 4GB of RAM. The Zenfone 2 will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and has an option to expand the memory via microSD card. The phone sports a 5.5 inch full HD display with very thin bezels which makes the phone look premium. The primary camera on the phone is of 13 MP with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is of 5 MP. Asus states that the Zenfone 2 features Real-Tone flash to ensure warm skin tones and accurate colours. The Zenfone 2 runs on the latest version of Android with Zen UI on top.
It has all the standard connectivity options and is 4G enabled. The Zenfone 2 packs in a 3,000 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery which should be enough to last a full day. The phone comes in five colours namely Osmium Black, Sheer Gold, Glacier Gray, Glamor Red and Ceramic White.
The Zenfone 2 looks very promising on paper. We are certain that it will give OnePlus and Xiaomi a run for their money.
