Looks like RIM’s problems just wont cease anytime soon. After facing issues with the Governments worldwide and then taking some wrath from the shareholders. Angry customers would be the last thing on RIM’s mind, but this is exactly where looks to be heading with its Blackberry services down worldwide due to server failure in the UK.
Though RIM has acknowledged the problem publicly on twitter and said that they were looking into the problem affecting users in Europe, Middle East and Africa, but apparently users in Asia are also affected by the same problem. This might be the case worldwide though there is no official confirmation on the same yet.
The problem seems to have arisen at around 11 a.m. local time in UK which is considered the peak hours for usage of the Blackberry services. T-Mobile UK and Vodafone Egypt have also confirmed the problem by responding to tweets from their customers.
This is the last thing RIM would want especially when competitive services like Apple’s iMessage & Samsung’s ChatOn are gearing up to launch which are very similar to Blackberry’s BBM. We can already hear the Whatsapp lot cheering on Twitter and debates on BB push email vs everything else on our Facebook timeline.
Are Blackberry services working for you?
