Ahoy, BlackBerry Messenger pirates! A new update has arrived for ye all in the form of version 6.0.1. All o’ you on a previous version, its time t’ abandon ship and get well versed with t’ new version. The new update comes with quite a bunch of new feature additions that users might appreciate.
For example, users would now be able to search for BBM enabled apps from the App World by clicking on a drop down menu option from right within the BBM app. This could prove to be super useful for folks perennially hooked to BBM. If that wasn’t all, users can now share content amongst their contacts whist using these apps – even if your friend doesn’t use that app. The app supports sharing of content with users on BBM 5.0 as well.
BBM has seen a lot of updates of late – mainly the addition of BBM Social platform for developers. This allows developers to design apps that can connect with BBM and offer apps designed to work within that eco system. There is also this talk about RIM getting on to the Android platform with BBM in the not too distant future.
Anyway, should you have a BlackBerry lying around, now is a good time to update. In case you haven’t received an update notification, head here to do it manually.
