Well that is what is being claimed by friends from over at Fonearena. BlackBerry’s recently announced flagship BlackBerry OS 10 toting handset – the Z10 is likely to get a pan India launch this very month. Nevertheless, it would be very surprising to see this happen because the phone will reach the all important US market only by March. But hey, we have no reason not to trust Fonearena and their source and would be only glad to see the Z10 here.
Fonarena has also went ahead and revealed a prospective pricing for the handset. And as expected of a BlackBerry, it is not going to be cheap. Initial estimates put the Z10’s price tag to hover around the Rs 40k mark ( Rs.39000 to be precise). If this turns out to be true, the device would be still cheaper than the iPhone 5 – but more expensive compared to many of its Android powered adversaries.
There is no doubt a large market for BlackBerry in India and it would be interesting to see the response from youngster as well as Enterprise users .
Also to be noted is the fact that February 24 happens to be a Sunday and it could be a possibility that the actual launch might happen a day later. But you ever know if BlackBerry decides to launch it on the weekend itself. BlackBerry’s other handset – the Q10 will arrive later this year – possibly for a lower price tag. That QWERTY keyboard laden handset is according to many the “true” successor to the existing line up of BlackBerries. Anyway, let us wait and watch!
