Japanese memory solutions provider Buffalo Inc. has just launched its newest portable hard drive range in in India. The two models that have been launched are the HD-PA500TU3 and the HD-PA1.0TU3 which boast of 500 GB and 1 Terabyte of storage space respectively.
Both the devices, as you might have guessed already, come with the new Thunderbolt I/O technology which allows users to transfer data at speeds of up to 10Gbps. This makes the hard drive twice as fast as USB 3.0 toting hard drives.
The device is also a decent looker thanks to its all-aluminum body. The Buffalo MiniStation is compatible with Macs and the company adds that it could be an ideal backup solution for TimeMachine backups. For people who would still like to use the slower USB way of transferring data, the MiniStation also gets an USB interface as well.
The Buffalo MiniStation Thunderbolt devices come with a 3-year warranty. It would be available with Buffalo brand stores and authorized retailed outlets starting today. Now, if you are wondering what price you got to pay for this increased data transfer speeds, be prepared for a mild shock. The MRP of the 500 GB variant is a cool Rs.17500/- while the 1TB variant will set you back by Rs. 21990/-.
