In a tragic incident, a Mumbai based businessman attempted suicide by banging his head with a Nokia 3310 earlier today after his watchman reportedly asked for his BBM PIN. The man whose name we cannot reveal owing to privacy concerns, is reportedly a big fan of the BlackBerry Messaging service. Initial investigation has revealed that the man has been using the BBM service since its inception and could not tolerate the fact that the “premium” messaging platform could trickle down to “normal” users.
As for the actual incident, eyewitness reports claim that the man was approached by his watchman Shaabzee Koirala earlier today morning while opening the gates of his plush Bungalow. The watchman asked for his boss’s BlackBerry PIN excitedly after getting it installed on his expensive looking Micromax. There are conflicting reports on what happened next, though. Shabzee, in his testimony apparently said that his boss gave him a long stare and a look of utter disbelief before driving off. Police suspect no foul play and Shaabzee was let off after a brief interrogation.
Team OG reporter Shady Gadgetwala has shamelessly managed to speak to one of the distraught relatives of the businessman and according to him, the man has been behaving erratically ever since he read a report last month about BBM coming to the Android and the iOS platforms. “He was extremely moody and irritable after one of his friends showed him a newspaper report about BBM coming to Android, ” he said.
Things however improved after the roll-out of BBM for Android was halted.
“Yes, he had in fact thrown a party after BBM posted a blog post saying that they are delaying the launch of the service. In fact, he was quite sure that BBM for Android would never see the light of the day since it is a BlackBerry promise and it is a well known fact as to how trustworthy BlackBerry is when it comes to delivering stuff”, the relative added.
The man is currently stable and will undergo extensive therapy and counselling after which his family members expect him to join their Family WhatsApp group which he has been shunning for years.
