Looks like just about everyone is interested in having their own app stores up there on the web. With the launch of Apple’s Mac App Store
expected very soon, here’s yet another small entry of Indian retailer Croma in to the world of App Stores with its own store branded, Croma Apps. Croma with its app store aims to capture the attention of a large user base of Netbook users in the country and would offer a host of applications – both free and paid for users of Intel Atom based netbooks.
The store is based on Intel’s Appup platform, and apps hosted on it would be supported on the following OS’: Windows 7 Starter Edition, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, and Windows XP SP 3
The App Store already has over 100 application available for download. Netbooks purchased henceforth from Croma would come with this application preinstalled. For those of you who bought the netbooks before this store was around, you can download the program from the Croma website and use it on your Netbook. Of course, you would need to sign up on the Croma website to be able to download the app.
