On Monday, Dell officially launched their eagerly anticipated XPS 13 Ultrabook in India. The device has been constantly in news around the globe for its performance & design. Dell had showcased the XPS 13 Ultrabook, earlier at the CES 2012 event, this year.
The XPS 13 comes with a powerful hardware that consists of second generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, Intel HD 3000 graphics, a bright high-definition WLED 300-nit display, along with an option of either a 128 GB or 256 GB solid state hard drive. The Ultrabook runs Microsoft Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
At the launch, Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director & GM, Consumer and SMB of Dell India said, “The XPS 13 is a perfect mobility device packing powerful technology into a small, portable package and delivering enterprise-friendly protection and security. With XPS 13 users don’t have to make a choice between beauty and practicality.“
The Ultrabook also features an edge-to-edge glass, an almost “frameless” display with a Corning Gorilla Glass for better durability, full-size backlit keyboard and a unique, cool-to-touch carbon fiber base to keep the temperature low.
The XPS 13 Ultrabook is available through all of the Dell’s distribution channels, be it online, Dell Exclusive stores and retail outlets at a starting price of Rs 79,900/- excluding local taxes.
In recent times, the portable computer market in India, has witnessed many launches in the Ultrabook segment by different manufacturers, the prominent ones being Toshiba’s Portege Z830, HP’s Folio 13, Samsung’s Series 9 and Acer Aspire S5. It’s raining Ultrabooks!
