Google has been pushing Android on mobile devices and Chrome OS on netbooks. At best we have seen some screenshots of Chrome OS for tablet, but that’s an old story and Google has announced no plans for having Chrome OS on tablets. I have pushed for it before and seem like a developer named François Beaufort has compiled a Chrome OS version that runs on tablets.
You would notice that the UI is scaled to be more touch friendly. The interface looks large and thus accommodates touch input. Being a browser based OS, the look and feel of Chrome OS doesn’t need too much makeover for running on a tablet, the image above shows how the drop down options in the address bar is tweaked.
The one minute video shows you the keyboard, tabs and menus, we wonder how much better this can be with official backing from Google. But then, Chrome OS (Chromebooks) itself hasn’t taken off with too much momentum.Btw, a wild rumor coming from Vulcan tells us that Google is debating a Chrome OS powered phone for 2012. We aren’t sure what to make of it, it’s to be taken with a pinch of salt, but some other day I might well argue in favor of a Chrome OS phone. Tell then, here is the Chrome OS on Tablet – Video
