The Motorola Atrix 2 was announced in India in the first week of March, 2012 at a price tag of Rs. 23,000. The same is now officially available at retail stores near you at a price of Rs. 22,000 as per PriceBaba.
Being a successor of the Motorola Atrix which created waves in the tech world as the “World’s most powerful smartphone” when it was displayed at CES way back in January 2011, there is a slight burden of expectations on the Motorola Atrix 2.
The Motorola Atrix 2 boasts of a marginally larger 4.3” TFT display, 8MP camera with full HD recording and runs on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), while the rest of the spec almost remains similar to the original Motorola Atrix.
Interestingly, it no longer has the flashy Biometric Fingerprint reader and also has an internal memory of 8GB compared to the 16 GB on the original. The battery is also reduced to 1750 mAh from 1930 mAh on the original Atrix; a cost cutting measure I would imagine.
On the brighter side the Atrix 2 comes preloaded with Need for Speed, and you can choose up to 9 additional free EA games. Now that’s tempting sweet for gamers. 😉
Off late, Motorola has been aggressively pricing its devices and it remains to be seen how much of an impact they are able to create in the Indian market.
