After the roll outs of Instant Articles and the option to send money through Messenger, Facebook has now planned something in collaboration with WhatsApp, Facebook at this year’s F8 conference stated that they probably will allow businesses to contact users. The social networking giant have been giving hints that it might make money from the messaging services last year. It’s said that WhatsApp may use some functions which are to be tested with Facebook Messenger.
The company said that they would let Messenger users communicate directly with brands and businesses for customer service inquires.
Facebook’s Chief Financial Officer, David Wehner, stated in a JPMorgan technology conference that the company was looking into ways that bring the business-to-consumer communication model to WhatsApp.
During the conference in Boston on Monday, David continued and said that over the course of time as they learn things they think that there are going to be opportunities that bring some of those things to WhatsApp. He also mentioned that’s more on the longer-term than the near-term.
The company which acquired WhatsApp for $22 billion has declined to reveal how it will make money from the property. The applications founders have been extremely critical about incorporating ads and games. WhatsApp for now has 800 million users and will be soon reaching 1 billion stated Facebook’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg. Mark also stated that it’s after that it could start some meaningful business.
WhatsApp have been popular from the beginning of times. It has now replaced the traditional messaging that avoids international cellular data charges. Messenger on the other hand is more of a multi-user chat product to which Facebook added a few e-commerce service along with game functions.
