Feel the $500 iPad is expensive? Try Haleron’s iLet Mini Hal

Featuring a 7″ touchscreen and a mere 600MHz processor running on Ocean Android the iLet Mini Hal serves the purpose at just $200. Now this wouldn’t put the iPad or the Asus Eee to shame when it comes to performance, but gives you plenty to do with for a travel companion even if you don’t want to use it extensively. This serves as an ebook reader, features USB ports, a 2GB flash memory and 128MB RAM. The 800X480 resolution is something smartphones have already matched, but the larger screen should make the web experience somewhat better. And the 16 hour battery life is cool enough for a tablet that you can use to read books.

It even has WI-FI. (that pretty much seals the deal for me). You can also get this loaded with windows CE for an additional $25, expand the memory with 32GB SD card slot, 250GB USB storage and even attach 3G dongles to the USB port. For $200 this is good enough feature set and going against the iPad this month itself, I am quite interested in seeing how well it sells. See more info.

  • I agree William that 2GB is not enough these days …but look at expansion options…32GB expansion card + 250GB USB storage
