After the recent update to the iPhone app which gave the capability for users to check in to events, it now turn of its Android counterpart to get the same treatment. The new version of the FourSquare app for Android handsets is now available for download from the Android Market.
The latest update gives users the option to check in to events at various locations. The App also gets a few visual upgrades and has a nicer look and feel to it – apart from being easier to use. The new “events” addition will give users something extra apart from the usual boring routine of checking in at the same place immaterial of what’s happening there. Anther much welcome addition is the capability to view in line image previews of your FourSquare friends list.
These updates to FourSquare cone at a time when Facebook decided to do away with its check in a feature on mobile devices. This was hailed more or less as a victory for FourSquare who along with Gowalla, lead the location sharing app industry today.
