Microsoft’s Russia website might have let news about the next edition of the world’s most popular browser out of the bag. The site inadvertently leaked a screenshot of Internet Explorer 9, the next version of Internet Explorer, showing the interface of the browser. While Microsoft has issued a few developer builds of IE9, those have been without any user interface. Now, if the screenshot is real, it shows IE9 with a much more minimalistic interface reminiscent of Chrome with the address and URL bars being combined, and tabs being placed on top of the browser window. You can also evidently “anchor” a website to the Windows taskbar by just dragging it to the taskbar, just like a normal application, allowing users to subsequently access the site by just clicking its icon on the taskbar.
While the item has been since taken down (obviously), you can still access it in Bing’s cache here, although you might not be able to view the image. Still, you can read about the features of IE9 using a translator, which surely counts for something.
