Windows Mango phone has officially made its entry in Japan with Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications launching the Windows Phone IS12T which was announced last month. Fujitsu is the first company to launch Windows Phone 7.5 in Japan which would be made available via the KDDI Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company starting from today i.e. August 25, 2011.
The Windows Phone IS12T is available in three colours viz, Citrus, Magenta and Black. The IS12T has a 59mm thin design and comes with a built in 32GB memory and an impressive 13.2 MP camera. It also boasts of the rugged mobile tag being featured with dust and water resistant technology. Other features include social media integration which includes Facebook and twitter along with a host of multimedia capabilities and entertainment applications.
Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is an exceptionally intuitive UI which boasts of features like the PeopleHub wherein one can manage their contacts, e-mail, and social media without having to launch separate applications. The IS12T also allows access to the Windows Live SkyDrive cloud service, a free service by Microsoft that allows storing up to 25GB of data among a host of other features.
It would be interesting to see how the Windows phone performs in the Japanese markets. It is one of the key markets where Microsoft will be looking to gain some market share to compete with Google’s Android platform. All we can say is that, with Microsoft Windows gearing up for multiple launches the OS race is just getting compulsive.
