Another regular like the Full throttle, this one event has caught the imagination of the IITians. They seem to be not only enjoying it but also getting addicted to it at the same time. Probably one of the reasons they progressed it from just gliding these planes to using motors and propellers to fly them. You must have seen people flying this custom made planes which are normally extraordinarily clumsy and do not have proper controls. But to my surprise the ones used in this competition had phenomenal controls and full credit goes to the flyers of these planes. They performed breathtaking maneuvers enthralling the audience. I must admit that even I was captivated by these high flying planes and was lost in my own world looking at them. We managed to get a detailed video of one of the high flyers who did remarkably well in the competition and is one of the contenders for title (or rather our bet to win the competition). Capturing the Blackbird sure did test us amateur photographers potential to the fullest.
These flying planes cost anywhere between Rs 14000 – Rs 28000 to build and the majority cost in this is generally of the remote control (which can be as high as Rs 13500 for a 6 channel version). The machines performed routine stunts on their own during the elims, come the finale these same machines had to complete a low flying task in the shape of letter ’8? and other such difficult. Extra points for spot landing!!!

Hi. I am participating in IIT Techfest for Aviator this year. And if possible I would like to talk to someone who has already participated in this competition. If you can please help me that would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
