Samsung has launched several Galaxy J7 models this year such as Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max. The South Korean company has now unveiled a new J7 phone called the Galaxy J7+ in Thailand. Various smartphone OEMs have released budget-friendly smartphones with dual rear cameras in Asian markets like China and India. However, the Galaxy J7+ is the first mid-range smartphone from the South Korean company with dual rear cameras.
Galaxy J7+ Design and Display
The Galaxy J7+ arrives in full aluminum chassis that measures 152 x 74.7 x 7.9 mm. The handset comes in three color options: Black, Gold and Pink.
Like the Galaxy J7 (2017) and J7 Pro, the J7+ features a 5.5-inch S-AMOLED display that offers a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The Always-On Display (AOD) feature that is available on premium flagships like the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 duo has been also made available on the Galaxy J7+.
Galaxy J7+ Chipset, Storage, and Battery
The Galaxy J7 (2017) and J7 Pro are powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 7870 chipset. However, the Galaxy J7+ has the MediaTek Helio P20 that features a 2.39 GHz octa-core processor under its hood. The Helio P20 chip is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM.
The native storage available on the J7+ is 32 GB and users can add up to 256 GB of microSD card on its external storage. The J7+ is packed with a 3,000mAh battery enabled with fast charging capabilities.
Galaxy J7+ Cameras, Software and Other Features
The dual rear cameras of the Galaxy J7+ seems to be its best selling feature. The Galaxy Note 8 that was unveiled last month was the first flagship smartphone from Samsung to arrive with dual cameras on its backside. Following with the trend, the Galaxy J7+ is the first budget-friendly smartphone with rear-mounted dual cameras.
The setup includes a f/1.7 aperture 13-megapixel sensor and another f/1.9 aperture 5-megapixel depth sensor for shooting impressive shots with bokeh effects. The dual camera system is coupled with an LED flash. The selfie snapper of 16-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture on the frontside of the Galaxy J7+ is also accompanied by an LED flash.
The handset comes preinstalled with Android 7.1 Nougat that is overlaid with Samsung’s UI. There are some additional features from Samsung on the phone such as Face Detection Security and Bixby Home app. Below the display of the smartphone is the fingerprint reader enabled home button.
Galaxy J7+ Price and Availability
The Galaxy J7+ is now available on pre-orders with a pricing of THB 12,900 (~Rs. 24,920) in Thailand. During the pre-orders, users can take home Samsung’s U Flex earphones worth THD 2,490 (~Rs. 4,800) for free. The shipments of the pre-ordered units will start from 17th September. The South Korean company has not confirmed any details on the arrival of Galaxy J7+ in India and other countries.
