G’Five has announced the launch of three new handsets under its “Movie King” label in India. The handsets in question are the E680, E650 and E620. As the name suggests, these devices are being targeted at the movie going crowd who wouldn’t mind watching full movies on a small screen. In fact, the devices come preloaded with a host of movies and videos in the SD card (4GB) that is supplied with the phone. The fourth device to be launched is a Gaming phone called the G20.
Lets now see what these handsets have in store for you. We start with the E680. As expected, this phone is a dual SIM handset complete with a 2.2 inch QVGA display, a built in “Yamaha Amplifier” (we would love to check what this one does), a decently spec’d music and video player. There is provision for attaching 3.5mm compatible earphones to the handset. That some good news for all you music buffs on a shoestring budget.
The E620 is virtually identical to the E680. It does get an addition feature in the form of an analog TV tuner that would allow you to watch terrestrial broadcasts whilst on the move. In India, this means you would [sarcasm] never miss your favorite programs on Doordarshan.[/sarcasm]
Then we have the E650 which is a flip phone. This one gets a more lavish display which measures in at 2.4 inches. All these handsets (the ones in the Movie King range) come preloaded with twenty movies, 5 FTV videos and twenty ringtones. The cards come in the form of four “packs” namely, East, West, North and South each of which will contain content targeted towards audience from that region. Movies included in some of the packs include Singh is King, Rock On, Bhool Bhulaiyya etc.
Common features to all these new handsets include support for push mail, dual cameras, LED torch and something known as “voice changer” which will modulate your voice so that the person on the other end thinks its someone else at the other end. All the devices support upto 16GB of memory with microSD cards.
The prices of the three devices in the Movie King Series – E680, E650 and E620 are between Rs 2,500 and Rs 3,500. The price of the G20 is yet to be announced.
