Google has unveiled the new chromebook in collaboration with Xolo, a chromebook manufactured by an Indian Company. It is named as Xolo Chromebook.
Chromebooks are meant to be thin clients mainly used for surfing the net. Google Chromebooks run on Google’s Chrome OS comes with Chrome Browser and many other Google apps installed out of the box.
Chromebooks were first launched in 2011 and since then it has come a long way with number of changes in the design, specifications and the manufacturers. It has partnered with various Companies like HP, ACER, LENOVO, SAMSUNG, DELL, TOSHIBA and this time it is XOLO.
To begin with Xolo has managed to make this chromebook look alright though not great. It comes in Black color with a 11.6 inch (1366×768) TFT display. Under the hood is a 2GB DDR3L RAM coupled with 16GB of storage. It also boasts of a Rockchip RK3288 Quad-Core Cortex-A17 processor, clocking up to 1.8GHz and a battery of 4200 mAH which promises of upto 10hrs of backup. It also has 1MP Camera(1280×720) for video chatting. The chromebook runs on Google’s very own Chrome OS. Other features include Guest mode, Easy syncing with other devices and mobiles, and of course numerous apps which can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store .
Coming to the sales of this device, it will be sold exclusively on Snapdeal for registered members at a price point of Rs 13,999/– along with some freebies.
Overall it is a good device given the specs and the price point. But it has its own flaws like Less storage, average design and ordinary front camera. But if you love chromebooks then this is definitely a deal you would not like to miss.
